Fiona Hudson-Kelly - What's Next?

New! Leadership & Management Funding

West Midlands, East Midlands and East of England regions.

From 1 April, EMB will be delivering the service across three regions, the East of England, the East Midlands and the West Midlands supporting business leaders and decision makers across these regions to access tailor made learning and development support.

The service is funded by the Skills Funding Agency and some alterations have been made both to the eligibility criteria and the scope of activities that are covered by the grant element of the programme.  These are as follows:

Eligibility

Organisations in scope for the service are either private sector businesses or social enterprises which employ fewer than 250 full time employees and have at least one employee in addition to the eligible beneficiary

  • Beneficiaries must be the owner/MD/CEO of a business or social enterprise if it employs 50 people or less.
  • If the business or social enterprise employs more than 50 people, a beneficiary who reports directly to the owner/MD/CEO can be considered.
  • Eligible organisations must also be able to demonstrate growth or growth potential.

Funded Learning and Development must address one of the following areas:

  • Developing a highly effective personal leadership and management style (including strategic thinking; and effective communication).

  • Creating a joint enterprise culture with the workforce (including developing an innovative, creative and productive culture for the organisation; developing productive working relationships; reducing and managing workplace conflict).
  • Planning and developing an effective organisation and teams (including recruitment, selections and departure; building and managing effective, creative and innovative teams; conveying vision and objective setting).
  • Leading and managing employee high performance (including employee motivation and commitment; delivering value; learning and development).

  • In some very limited circumstances, other proposed leadership and management development activity which supports the beneficiary to fully engage and make full use of their workforce may be approved but this will require additional approval from the Skills Funding Agency.

Funding

Funding is dependent on meeting all eligibility criteria and will need to be fully matched by the beneficiary organisation on a pound for pound basis, excluding the VAT element. So if an organisation is eligible and the approved learning and development costs £1500 excluding VAT, the organisation may be eligible for a grant of £750.   No unmatched grant funding is available. Previous beneficiaries of this programme may be eligible for further support but must meet the eligibility criteria in the application form, including demonstrating growth or growth potential.

You should note that EMB cannot accept direct referrals from Training Suppliers/Providers for this programme.  However Training Suppliers/Providers may forward the application form to any organisations that meet the eligibility criteria and may be interested in applying for support directly.

If you are interested in applying for support please get in touch and we will send you the relevant application form which you will need to complete and send to EMB Limited. Contact fiona by e-mail
fionahudsonkelly@btconnect.com or call our office on 0845 460 4440.

Training providers cannot refer their clients directly to the funding bodies.

You will need to get in touch with us and we will send you the application form that you need to complete to apply for the Leadership and Management Training Grant but you will need to send this to the funding organisation yourself.

When they have received your application they will contact you direct and assess your eligibility after which, if you are eligible, they will arrange for a specialist skills advisor to meet with you to discuss your training requirements.

An in-depth training plan will be compiled for you by their specialist advisor.

If the training plan identifies a need that our programme can help you fill then you will be given the option of using Fiona Hudson-Kelly as your preferred training provider along with others that are suitable, then choice is then yours as to which one you would prefer to work with.

Only after this process has taken place and you have received your funding approval will you be in a position to book your training.
